For:

Reading; out loud!

Are you going to plead Guilty or not Guilty?

Do you wish to speak in the first person that is the question?

Or do you wish to write in the third person singular; [i’s] is stupid?

"I am loading, unloading or carrying dangerous goods".
[Originally used by the Royal Navy specifically for explosives].

Stephen Harper, asked by ATV’s Steve Murphy about whether the deaths of Canadian soldiers ever stirs regret in the Prime Minister, responds, “I don’t feel responsible for the war.”

"―Vulgaris opinio est duplex: orta inter graves et discretos, quae multum veritatis habet, et opinio orta inter leves et vulgares homines, absque specie veritatis.

Common opinion is double: that proceeding from grave and discreet men, which has much truth in it, and that proceeding from foolish vulgar men, without any semblance of truth in it."

Black's Law Dictionary (8th ed. 2004),

"…Whatever our political persuasion or our particular conception of justice, there can be no doubt that Canadians today expect a just society. They expect just laws and practices. And they expect justice in their courts." Judges of the Court Remarks of the Right Honourable Beverley McLachlin, P.C. Chief Justice of Canada Remarks delivered to the Empire Club of Canada Toronto, Ontario March 8, 2007 Oratory; the act or the art of speaking well, or with fluency and elegance. Eloquence comprehends a good elocution or utterance; correct; appropriate and rich expressions, with fluency, animation and suitable action. Hence eloquence is adapted to please, affect and persuade… ………..When a Justice speaks it is on behalf of I (the Judge), We (the People) in the first person. Promise of estoppels; by acquiescence.

On Friday morning, July 26, 1946, in the Palace of Justice at Nuremberg, Germany, Justice Robert H. Jackson, Chief of Counsel for the United States, delivered his closing address to the International Military Tribunal in Case No. 1, The United States of America, the French Republic, the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, and the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics v. Hermann Wilhelm Göring, et al.

"It is against such a background that these defendants now ask this Tribunal to say that they are not guilty of planning, executing, or conspiring to commit this long list of crimes and wrongs. They stand before the record of this Trial as bloodstained Gloucester stood by the body of his slain king. He begged of the widow, as they beg of you:

"Say I slew them not."

And the Queen replied, "Then say they were not slain. But dead they are..."

If you were to say of these men that they are not guilty, it would be as true to say that there has been no war, there are no slain, there has been no crime.

THE PRESIDENT: I call upon the chief prosecutor for the United Kingdom of Great Britain. .

MR. JUSTICE JACKSON: Would it be agreeable, Your Honors, if Sir Hartley Shawcross should start his address after the recess?

THE PRESIDENT: Yes. Then we will sit again at a quarter to 2.

MR. JUSTICE JACKSON: And may I add this for the purpose of the record. I have filed with the Tribunal and furnished to counsel copies of the summation with footnotes to the record. These footnotes are designed, of course, to direct the attention of adversaries and of the Tribunal to the supporting data in the record. I thought they might be helpful in reading it.

THE PRESIDENT: Thank you. The Tribunal will adjourn.`

Palace of Justice Judges: Major General Iona Nikitchenko (Soviet main),Lieutenant Colonel Alexander Volchkov (Soviet alternate), Colonel Sir Geoffrey Lawrence (British main and president), Sir Norman Birkett (British alternate),Francis Biddle (American main), John J.
